McLaren Vale District Protection Bill
On Friday 3rd June, John Rau, the Minister for Planning, released a Discussion Paper for the the proposed 'McLaren Vale District Protection Bill' and the 'Barossa District Protection Bill' with advice that submissions in response to the Discussion Paper were to be received by Friday 22nd July.
The McLaren Vale Grape, Wine Tourism Association will be making a submission on behalf of our members/levy payers as will I am sure a number of other organisations and individuals in the community.
As some of you may be aware a great deal of work has already been undertaken on this matter by a group of people from McLaren Vale and the Barossa. The McLaren Vale region has been represented in those discussions by Dudley Brown, Jude McBain, David Gill, Jim Hullick and Leon Bignell.
We now want to give a broader group of people the opportunity to consider the Discussion Paper and give some input into the submission response to the Minister.
This legislation will have a profound effect on our region and our future development so we would like to ensure we have canvassed all opinions.
If you have any comments or suggestions about the Discussion Paper could you please forward them to Pip Forrester chair@mclarenvale.info by the 24th June or if you wish to make a submission directly to the Minister you will find the details you need in the attached documentation.
Regards
Pip Forrester
Chair
McLaren Vale Grape, Wine and Tourism Association
