McLaren Vale

Cascabel Winery and Vineyard are located on a gentle slope, overlooking the gulf St. Vincent, at the southern end of the McLaren Vale wine region.
Winemakers/vignerons/owners Duncan Ferguson and Susana Fernandez focus on traditional European winemaking techniques, using hand picked grapes form low yielding vines.
The vineyard has 9 varieties, predominantly Spanish.
Set up at the end of 1997, the winery is small, fully equipped and designed to handle all winemaking processes, from crushing the grapes to bottling.
By doing everything in house, the aim is to keep full control over quality. At this level of production, the care and individual attention to each wine can be maintained.
The results are wines that reflect location, variety and soil as well as the personality of the owners.
